Catching Up

I caught up with some ex-colleagues last evening. It was wonderful. We spoke like we did at our office lunches, cracked stupid jokes and generally discussed how the company we worked for is getting sucky with crazy policies like having specific hours to use the pantry and canteen. I mean WTF! Are we back in school or are we going to be treated like mature adults?!? I mean what are we going to have next??? Fixed times to take a dump?!?!?! Dang! That pissed me off even though I don't work there anymore. I thought the company was different. Turns out it's just another corporate sweatshop. Freaks! Anyway, we did watch Ice Age 2 and laughed our guts out.

Although I enjoyed the movie, I think the first part was better. My favourite character is Manny, the mammoth. Close seconds (and I mean rrrrreally close) are the possum brothers, Crash and Eddie. Man, they really cracked me up! Especially after Manny hits on Ellie, the female mammoth. Freakin' hilarious!

I love animated movies! But I have to say my favourite is Shark Tale. Nothing to beat a vegetarian shark who has a mafia Dad!!!!

What's your fave animated movie?

my fav i guess has to be finding nemo:)though ice age 1 and shark tale also top the list, finding nemo is just too cute!!..shark tale's awesome..but nemo just steals the show entirely:):)...before nemo, lion king ruled my list of animated films for a very long time..:)

I like Beauty And The Beast. It's message is timeless, not to mention classic animation by animators who were real artisans. Todays computer animated films look choppy, uneven, and somewhat transparent.

This is a case where technology doesn't do animation justice. Because of time constraints involved in filmmaking, computer animation can be achieved in half the time as original animation when thousands of actual cells were hand drawn to make one frame.

Also, todays animated films don't have well matched character voices. Their personalities overshadow the animated character. I also like Jungle Book.

Okay, I am now stepping down from my animated soap box before it collapses.

namrata... nemo is really nice. I enjoyed it too!

haathi... madagascar was fantastic. the penguins totally rocked! Jungle Book and Dumbo. *sigh* I attribute my formerly bad eyesight (got corrective laser surgery done) to those movies. I have no idea how many times I sang 'the Bare (bear?) necessities' with Baloo :)

alexys... I missed Beauty and The Beast. Will catch up on it soon.

noojes... nemo was great! Don't remeber watching Alice. And yes, it was a fun evening! :-D
